1) Aerospace field
Aerospace vehicles are often subjected to harsh conditions such as high vacuum, extreme temperatures, strong radiation, and ineffective lubrication, and have strict requirements for system weight. Ultrasonic motors are the best choice for their drivers.
2) Precision instruments and electromagnetic motors use gearboxes to reduce speed and increase torque. Due to the presence of gear clearances and return errors, it is difficult to achieve high positioning accuracy. Ultrasonic motors can be directly driven and have fast response and good control characteristics, making them suitable for precision instruments and meters.
3) Joint drive of robots
By using ultrasonic motors as joint drivers for robots, the fixed and moving parts of the joints can be integrated with the stator and rotor of the ultrasonic motor, making the entire mechanism very compact. Japan has developed a spherical ultrasonic motor, which has solved many difficulties in driving multi degree of freedom robots.
4) Micro Drivers in Micro Mechanical Technology
As the core of micro machinery, micro motors are an important indicator of the development level of micro machinery. In the manufacturing and research and development of micro electronic mechanical systems (MEMS), their motors are mostly at the millimeter level. The medical field is one of the most representative areas for the application of micro mechanical technology, and ultrasonic motors have been applied in surgical robots and surgical instruments.
5) In situations where electromagnetic interference is strong or not allowed to occur
Under the conditions of nuclear magnetic resonance environment and maglev train operation, the electromagnetic motor cannot work normally, but the ultrasonic motor can handle it.
