MTU is the diesel propulsion system component of the Daimler Chrysler Group in Germany, and is also the world's heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturing company. Its products are widely used in military, railway, off-road vehicles, offshore vessels, and power stations (including non-stop backup power stations).
As early as 1883, MTU developed a high-speed internal combustion engine for vehicles. In 1901, it designed and manufactured the world-renowned Mercedes cars, and subsequently developed various high-end luxury models and engines. In 1909, aircraft engines were designed and manufactured, and in 1923, advanced performance diesel engines were produced. So far, it has produced over 174000 engines and has users all over the world. The 2000 and 4000 series of German Mercedes Benz MTU are currently advanced diesel engines. It was developed, manufactured, and launched by MTU, a German engine turbine alliance based in Frey, in 1997. It includes five different models: eight cylinder, twelve cylinder, sixteen cylinder, eighteen cylinder, and twenty cylinder, with an output power range of 270KW to 2720KW.
It is an advanced design and equipped with an electronic management system MDEC, which changes the traditional concept of high-pressure fuel pumps, similar to the electronic fuel injection (one cylinder corresponds to one electronic fuel injection pump) on luxury cars. The MDEC electronic management system is equivalent to installing an industrial computer on Mercedes Benz 2000 and 4000 series engines in Germany, with many sensors connected to the computer through many cables. The modules in the computer are pre cured before leaving the factory to ensure that they can provide an appropriate amount of electronic fuel injection in different environments and working conditions: injection pressure, injection quantity, injection angle, and injection opening and closing time.
